Ms Amy, Lead Learner & Executive Director

Amy is a long-time resident of Colorado, having grown up in the Boulder/Gunbarrel area since age 4. Her parents were outdoor enthusiasts, always taking her on hiking, camping or ski adventures! This has carried over to her own true love of the outdoors and her complete admiration of our beautiful Colorado mountains. She loves to ride her road bike, ski, hike and camp, especially with her family. She is happiest watching her son playing in his baseball games!

Amy also loves to share the joys of our wonderful planet and local community with her preschoolers. She has worked in Early Childhood as an educator for over a decade. She is currently the Owner-Director of Wildflower Preschool, which she opened in 2013. She loves working with the staff, children and families each day. We are blessed to have so many wonderful people as a part of our community. She loves that there is never a dull moment in my day!

Amy holds a Masters in Elementary Education and a Bachelors degree in social sciences. She completed the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program in 2019 and has completed her Coaching Credential through CU Denver and the Colorado Coaching Consortium in 2020.

Ms Lex- Site Director

Ms Lex is our Site Director at Wildflower Preschool, along with being a co-teacher in the Cicada (Pre-K) classroom!

She moved from central New York to Boulder 2 years ago in pursuit of the mountains and healthy life style Boulder has to offer. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, running, hiking, yoga, and exploring the area on her bike.

Lex completed her Bachelor’s Degree in 2013 in Animal Behavior at Bucknell University, where she realized her love for teaching through a couple of education courses. She went on to work in a preschool in New York for two years while earning a Master’s Degree in Inclusive Childhood Education, including two Early Childhood Education courses. Lex has experienced working with all ages and abilities birth through 5th grade, but her true passion is working with preschoolers in structured and guided play with developmentally appropriate learning practices.

Lex is thrilled to bring her knowledge into the classroom and help guide the Wildflower children to grow as the intuitive and curious learners they are!

Ms Sam- Assistant Site Director & Curriculum Specialist

Sam began cultivating a love of teaching young learners in 2011 when she started working as a nanny. That love turned into a passion, and that passion turned into a profession. She is excited in her teaching career at Wildflower as a Pre-K teacher and the Director of Curriculum!

Sam is a Colorado native and lives in Boulder with her husband, Justin, and cat, Winnie Cooper. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CU Boulder and completed her Post-Baccalaureate teaching licensure at MSU Denver. When she’s not in the classroom, Sam enjoys reading anything she can get her hands on, dancing to anything with a beat, and snuggling anything with fur, especially her kitty, Winnie.

Ms Kira- Preschool Teacher

Hi, I’m Kira Fling.  I moved to Boulder in 2006 after retiring from my career in short track speedskating.  I attended CU for my undergrad and received my Master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Colorado Denver.  In 2007, I began teaching skiing and fell in love with teaching.  This helped me decide to pursue a career in education. I began teaching in 2010 and have taught kindergarten, preschool, and toddlers.  I also hold a teaching license in physical education and have created and implemented a preschool PE and health curriculum.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy skiing, biking, hiking with my dog, and of course, ice skating. I love the outdoors and traveling, so you will rarely find me at home. I am excited to bring my skills to Wildflower!

Ms Rachel- Preschool Assistant Teacher

Ms Rachel finds it fun and rewarding to be a part of the Wildflower team. She has lived in Colorado for 5 years, and received her degree in Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Rachel has nannied and babysat over the years. She was a Girl Scout for 13 years and she worked as a camp leader for 4 summers. Rachel has worked as an after school teacher for STEAM Science and Robotics, working with 1st through 5th graders at 3 different elementary schools in the Boulder area.

Rachel enjoys watching children evolve into amazing human beings, and feels very special to be a part of their process in expanding their social skills, emotional intelligence, and intelligence overall. Rachel is so excited to bring what she have to offer into the classroom for your children.

Ms Ali- Assistant Preschool Teacher

Ms. Ali is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area but has been living in Boulder for about 5 years now. She recently graduated from CU Boulder in Psychology and Ecology/Evolutionary Biology. Ali has a deep love for plants and still works at the East Campus greenhouse when she has the time.

Ali lives in a home with two cats and a dog. She has a love for hanging out with young ones as she has a huge family and has been a camp counselor for many years.

Ali is thankful for the opportunity to be a part of all Wildflower children’s lives!
